We are very excited that the first phase of building work on the Church was started on Wednesday 31st August. This is the removal and replacement of the transept window which has deteriorated and become a priority. Initially we will see scaffolding erected both on the inside and outside of the Church.

The glass is going to be removed and then the stonemasons will make a detailed plan of the stone. They will then go back to their workshop to carve the stone so there will be a period of about eight weeks when nothing seems to be happening.  Towards the end of November they will return to rebuild the window in brand new stone and then the glass will be replaced by specialist leaded window contractors.

An added benefit is that it will conserve heat during the winter months.
